A couple months ago, doc mcstuffins mom drank to many Coronas and purchased this sweet chicken coop. So now I guess I need to get some chicks šŸ„šŸ˜‚šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø #icantevengarden #wayovermyheadonthisone#chickenmom

We got 3 chickens and 1 rooster. The rooster was part of the deal. Chance named him Boat Snack.

Today Raleigh and I went and got two eggs out of our coop, like everyday. Nice right? So we took them inside and then came back outside to start cleaning the shop. We walk outside and see Boat Snack (rooster) and the red hen running around. 8 little puppies trying to figure out what the hell is going on and why the chickens weren’t caged. šŸ” I yell at chance to come and help, of course I was in trouble because I didn’t shut the gate..... but I completely froze, I didn’t know what to do! The two old deaf dogs šŸ• we’re heading that way but I just stood there and told Chance I was getting the dogs in reality I was literally just standing there yelling at DEAF dogs. šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø meanwhile Raleigh is running around crying that the ā€œdamn dogs are gonna eat my chickensā€ and 8 puppies dragging on her pants. Anyways we were able to get them herded back into the coop. The kid stopped crying and I finally came to my senses.

So for those wondering how I was handling being a real mom and a chicken mom.... not so good.....but we’re hangin tough 😜

Update. We still have 3 chickens and Boat Snack has now been renamed little Jerry Seinfeld but we did have a little mishap. We decided to let our chickens out to free graze the barn. We did it for about 4 days and each night we would put them back in their little coop where they would be safe and sound. BUT Mr. Jackson decided to put them up by himself one night while I was gone roping. I pull in to a pretty angry husband with a kids play rope in hand. He has two chickens in the coop and one running around the yard and one is missing at this point. I'm thinking great its 9 PM just let them fin for themselves we'll get them in the morning I don't want to deal with this.... Not Jackson he says grab a rope we have got to get them. (You know chicken training) well I am not impressed but Raleigh thinks this is great and she grabs a rope. The hen is pretty gentle and I get her cornered under the trailer and grab her, mind you I DO NOT like touching the chickens but I put her back in her coop.

Now the hunt is on for little Jerry. Little Jerry is in the barn and chance ropes him off the rafters but he slips through the rope and now hes on the run, he runs out of the barn and jumps on the hood of chances truck. Raleigh is pretty jazzed right now and I am still unimpressed. Chance ropes him and has him by leg, Raleigh looks at me with a glee in her eye and yells "we got that damn chicken!" All chickens and little Jerry made it safely into their pen and I'm still married 🤣

I finally let the chickens and little Jerry out of their coup again and it was a success, who knows what the future will hold with these chickens but life on the funny farm is back to business as usual.
